Will you pray with me? You can always pray FOR me too if you’d like, but specifically will you pray for a friend of mine?
I’d LOVE to tell you great, detailed and long stories about my buddy Romack (Justin Romack… well actually Timothy Justin Romack, but we just call him Justin, or Romack, or little drummer boy…) but we’ll save those for another time. The short version is, Romack is coming up to Dallas tomorrow for another eye surgery. He has a partially detached retina (and a number of other eye related issues which you can find out from his wife’s blog post) and this surgery is risky, or to quote Angela: “Well, his doctor said that this upcoming surgery is very heroic because there is a large possibility that it won’t work. That means that there is a large possibility that Justin will never see again.”
Justin simply amazes me. He understands that no matter the outcome, God is completely sovereign and in control which just testifies of his faith not in a God that “gives us good things” and “wants to see us happy”, but in a God whose love and mercy and grace surpasses our ability to understand it.
As you read this, will you pray:
that God’s name will be glorified
that He would restore Justin’s sight
that He would continue to strengthen Justin and Angela’s marriage
that He would work through the hands of the doctors and surgeons
that He would remove any anxiety from Justin before his surgery
that we, the Body of Christ, will rejoice in the fact that God is faithful and trustworthy, and that He is good.
Feel free to pray your own prayers too
Justin’s surgery is at 10:30am tomorrow morning (Central Daylight Time, what would that make it in NZ — come on my international readers, now is your chance to show off your mad time converting skillz). If you read this after the fact, pray anyway! Pray for a speedy recovery.
Thank you friends. You’re the best! If you’d like, you can even visit their blogs and send them some love via comments!
Thank you so much Paul! I read your post to Justin last night and it really made him feel loved AND so happy that someone is praying for him!
Hey man. Thanks so much for your continued prayer and support. I appreciate you mentioning my situation on the blog…and I couldn’t help but smile when I read it.
You are a pretty awesome dude. And yes, I did use the phrase “dude and dudettes” on my blog.
