A friend sent me a verse that has been of great encouragement to me this week – it gives me hope. Not in my own abilities but in God and His Spirit within me.

“I will sprinkle clean water on you and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.”
Ezekiel 36:25-27

Over the past few months I’ve seen a lot of cleaning and removing of idols from my life. I’m more aware now than ever of the Spirit within me. This verse gives me hope because it tells me that it’s not about what I can or can’t do, it’s about what He will do. What He has already done. What He IS doing. I hope this verse encourages you as well! Progress, not perfection.
